After many deadend leads to find a 4.6 ring and pinion for my '90 240sx to replace the stock, I'm open to suggestions on getting a lower ratio.
I talked to FRsport and they informed me that the 4.6 R &P are now cut backwards and are only fitting a FWD applications. Can anyone else confirm or deny this?
Also, has anyone tried to frankenstein a solid axle from an Xterra with the 4.6 ratio? I guess my thought would be with the driveshaft connection would need some major help. I really didn't think that finding final gear set would be this much hassle. Help :gotme

Fwd vehicles don't have differentials. Also you are very correct on different gear ratios being a hassle. I've yet to see a 4.6 gear ratio installed in our r200 housing. I've seen one write up where everything looked to be possible but he never finished the project. Shims must be ordered from nissan for pinion depth and bearing load/backlash and there are a few specialty tools needed to build the diff correctly. Id recommend the 4.36 skyline diff with j30 axles if you're looking for an easy r&p upgrade.
