R200 diff interchange

This seemed to be the only place to ask this question. Hope I am not out off line.The VLSD from a 92 Q45 that I put in my 72 240Z is no longer a limited slip. What I need to know is if all "short nosed" R200 from the Q45, Z32NA, 350Z, G35 etc are interchangeable? In other words, the only difference between them would be gearing. The S13/14 diff has the side mounted flanges with only 5 mounting holes vs the 6 on the Q45. Are those from the 350Z/G35 5 or 6 bolt?Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to swap my diff ASAP for an event this weekend.

Many of newer R200 are not viscous limited slip and the mounting to subframe are different.

The VLSD R200 will not survive agressive driving for long [overheats]. Install a diff cooler.

I thought that they either came as an open diff or VLSD and that the clutch type LSD was a NISMO part only? If I'm wrong which cars came with clutch type LSD?When you say the mounts are different, are you referring to the rubber attachments elements between the diff and supports? Is it not safe to assume that the mounting points on the diffs are the same? I am not too worried about the rubber mounts as mine are all custom made anyways. I just need to make sure that the holes in the diff cover and the 2 ears on the front are in the same location.Thanks for the info.

I think the R32 is the only differential with mechanical clutch.

Yes, I think you will find the mounting ears are different. I think marksport has a post with pictures in one of the Infiniti forums.
