I wanted to get the Greddy cover for my rear end, but I have to have a R200 Diff. Are the non vlsd diff's from s14's R200's as well? And also, is it a direct bold on, or is there modifications that need to be made. I know if it has the 5 bold output shafts that I need new axles, so in that case, do i get some off a 93+ J30?

all of the 240's use a r200 the differences are, the lsd version (r200v), s14's use a different cover due to different mounting bolt locations, and there are a few different axle designs. Basically you can put any r200 diff in your car but you have to use a s13 cover and you have to have the correct 6 bolt shafts and of course if you have a vlsd then they must be vlsd shafts as well as they are longer where they go inside the diff. I hope I didnt make it too complicated for ya, but to make things simple for you no you can not put a s14 cover in your s13 since the frame mounting bolts are in a different location...

bummer oh well. If I am going to be running alot of tourqe and Horsepower (eventually), should I get the 5 bolt axles? I want to get a 2 way clutch lsd, but I would rather not have to get a viscous before hand just to use the 5 bolt axles. Any suggestions?

I believe the only differential that requires the longer axles is the factory vlsd but you need to check on that, most of the upgrades available are for those who are running an open diff I believe, other than that there is absolutely no reason to switch to the 5 bolt versus the 6 bolt flanges. my suggestion is to figure out what type of differential that you want to run because different types of limited slip act in different ways, for example a locker is great for drag racing but it has a harsh engagement and isnt too great on wet pavement

If you want to use the 5 bolt axles, you need the Japanese S13 pumpkin and output shafts. Im not sure if that is the same as the R200 youre talking about. If your only reason to do this is to be able to use the 5 bolt, Id forget about it. I dont think the 5 bolt axles are much stronger than the stock 240 ones. Just get a new limited slip and install it into your existing setup...

Ok, I think I'll just do the swap and not worry about all the rest of the stuff ( saves money too which is good ).

On a side note, has anyone used the 2-ways? I was looking at the Kaaz, the Cusco, or the Tomei 2-ways wich all tend to be around 750-850 dollars. I was leaning towards the Tomei becasue on the info I could find, it impressed me the most. Does anyone else have any opinions???

If your planning on drifting, Kaaz is superior. It is much more aggressive. Street driving is a little rougher, but its ok...

Ive had my Kaaz for about 8 months, drifting or track racing at least one event a month with no problems at all. Just make sure to change the oil religiously after every track event, or 3,000 miles. I use the Kaaz gear oil too just to be safe.
