THE REASON I BECAUSE MY R12 SYSTEM IS OUT AND NOW IS HARD TO FIND THE R12 FREON ...I CHECK A KIT WITH THE ADAPTERS BUT A FRIEND TOLD ME I HAVE TO CLEAN THE OIL ON THE SYSTEM AND PUT SOME NEW OIL FOR R134 FREON FIRST... I NEED HELP ON THIS ONE... THANKS...

i just did this on mine and another car, a toyota. it says that you can mix em, but me personally i disconected my compressor, draind the oil. Replaced all my o rings with ones for 134. and replaced the dryer. its 15 dollars worth of insurence. then pulled the system into a deep vacuum(youll need a shop for this, mabe not, dont know who/what you have) then proceed with the kit. its totally worth it to change over. last i checked by me, r12 was 97 bucks a pound
