ok the ecm grounds the compressor relay and the condensor fan relay. the ecm determines this by inputs from different areas of the car. one is the ambeint temp sensor in the grille area. another is the dual pressure switch located on the receiver/dryer. The a/c button on your heater controls, and the blower switch. engine temp sensor. the ecm determines weather all conditions are met before it will gnd that circuit to the relay.

try pretending your the ecm and get underneath the relay box for the airconditioner relay. ground the G/Y wire and see if the a/c system comes to life. if it does one of the inputs to the ecm is out of spec.

something I missed in this post your not running a standard KA engine so the ecm is different. This starts to venture into areas I am unfamilier with.. I happen to have an SR 200sx s-14 downloaded on my comp is your engine out of an s-14? The problem here for me will be where you merged the 2 harnesses together I dont know the condition or attention to detail that was taken when it was done... that would be an important area to look at in this case. you may need to do some wire tracing to get this working.

My engine is S13 Blacktop so its the 180SX then....yeah I will check up again but from what I remember we grounded that wire and it came on! So its got to be one of those other ones...maybe the under the grille one...I wonder what it looks like...

so do you have the 180 ecm diagrams and the ka diagrams so you can match everything up? when you installed the 180SX engine did you also swap all the relay boxs and their harnesses during the swap? how about the dash harness anything in there ?

I don't have either diagrams but trying to locate them and asking around. We didn't swap out any relay boxes or dash harness from what I remember.

ok. i paid every attention to detail possible when i did his harness. i do the same for all my toehr harnesses also. my g/y wire is hooked properly, that i know. but for soem reason, his a/c relay isnt getting triggered properly. in fact, the wire that normally would be ground is power in one siutation, and converts to a ground and the other side whiuch is normally dead (no continuity to anything) turns to power. very odd caer, indeed. i have never had a/c p[robs with any of my swaps except for this one. im racking my brain as well. the long and the short of the S13 SR swap to make a/c work is this:

when repinning F9&F10, pay special care on hooking up the PROPER green/yellow wire. i will tripple check my ecu pinouts and make sure once againt hat i hooked the proper one up. most SR hanress have 2 g/y wires and it can be confusing at times if you delete the wrong one. im sure its something simple, but unfortnately, he had this prob before. im thinking either a bad dryer or maybe even a pressure switch is bad. the only way i got his a/c to work was to hook power up to his compressor.

my friend had a similar prob on his old school caddy.

the fix: toggle switch for a/c compressor. hahaha

ngi, ill try and see what i can come up with. i feel ya on the whole rain part.

at the point where you merged the 2 different harnesses find the G/Y wire and release it from the main connector on the ecm side. turn your a/c on and see if it goes ground. if it does something is wrong with the original harness in the car if it doesnt then you have an input problem to the ecm. Taylor I assume your working on nnkfws33's car? do you have the 180sx black top diag? what is the other G/Y wire in the connector for?
