Ive been calling around for a place to recharge my AC. Its likely a bit low as it doesnt seem to work consistently anymore, and the compressor, receiver, and pressure switch were replaced in 03.

Some places want $90/lb now, and some arent even carrying it anymore! Should I take the EPA test and try to get a hold of it myself? It couldnt be that hard to do. I dont think it needs to be evacuated.

$90/lb isn't too bad, considering street value is about half that. EPA test means you'll be able to buy it off ebay--legally, not sure how that's enforced. $20/can (12-14oz) is typical, sometimes you get a bargain. I scooped up 30lbs for $350 a couple years ago. Make sure the can comes with a fill fitting, or you'll have to buy that too. Some have oil, some don't. Type of oil is important.
