Probably BT-10 in the 1995 manual. I am betting the dash needs to come out.

Replaced sunload sensor w/new from Ted. Works awhile then not. Diagnostics tells me code 25 (flashing 5) i.e. sunload sensor.

Following morning I have ac but only for a 1/2 hr. or so. Then none.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Are you parked in the sun during the diagnostic? Yours would be the first failure I've head of in 15 years of Q ownership and internet forum activity. If there's a separate test that you can run with a meter to check it, I would do that before pulling the dash to get to that sensor (if that's what has to happen). I would think it's more likely that your control head is bad, although they rarely fail on the 94 and newer.

Mine gives me a code 25 as well. But after I fixed the ambient temp sensor. My Ac has been working like a champ. Is your 25 flashing?

What other codes does it give regarding ac?

Hello Qship, the only code shown was/is the 25 (flashing 5) which says sunload sensor. My bad for not further reading to see the FSm portion detailing cheking the A/C auto amp. Now that I know wher that module is located I will attempt to find out how to access it,

More later.

To the previous responder, yes, I am doing these diagnostics in the sun. The fan is working 100%

I will now try to locate the ambient sensor.

Any work arounds such as a diode, a disconnect of ambient sensor to get going w/AC while I await shippment. That's assuming that would be the fix.

Qship, how did you arrive at the conclusion to replace ambient sensor instead of sunload sensor if you got a 25 code?

Qship, found your post on similar/same problem. There you wrote you had a 21 code w/41 & 51 flashing.
Then in your response to my post you wrote a 25 code thrown.

I am a bit confused. But then I did suffer a significant head trauma not to long ago. Memory partitioning is a bit wacko.

Anyway, 21, 25 hut hut!!!!!

Thanks.

I had code 21 first. All I did was clean my ambient temp sensor and it began working. But I went to pull a part and replaced it anyway for $10. This was also accompanied with my amb button indicating outside temp of -22 degrees in may in Louisiana. After my I had cold air blowing in my car. I ran the codes again. Now it shows code 25. But my ac is working fine. So I didn't go any further. Btw, after my amb temp sensor was replaced the othe codes went away except the aforementioned code. I hope this helps. Or at least gives you some hope. Good luck!
