my r-32 pumpkin may have a 2-way lsd in it

now my question is can i swap pumpkins or do i have to take it apart and swap internals as well ?

i already have a nismo 2-way in my s13 pumpkin but wont hurt to have a spare / extra one that is laying around

MY FRIEND HAS A R33 PUMPKIN (W/ S13 COVER) AND AXLES MOUNTED UP IN HIS RB20DET POWERED S13. THE AXLES ARE MUCH THICKER ON THE R33 THAN S13'S AND HOPEFULLY THE R32'S ARE THE SAME WAY.

My car is running the whole R32 differential in it. However I also had to use the R32 5 bolt axles for this to work. I'm not sure if you can just swap the output shafts to the 240 6-bolt. It'd be nice for someone to try this and find out ;)

I did the 5 bolt thing as well and used the 5 bolt axles. The alternative would have required buying 6 bolt outputs from a 240SX with factory VLSD. or at least that is what I read.

I don't think you want to swap internals. That takes shimming, setting backlash, etc., with special tools and parts. Unless you work at a Nissan dealer, of course...

plus if you got the axles anyway, it is easy to swap them out when you put in the new diff. You need a big socket tho, I think 38mm if I remember correctly.

That's right now I remember, I ended up buying both sizes so I wouldn't have go back to the parts store :) Some advice to you on the swap. Make sure that the shaft is completly seated before you torque it. There was enough pressure when I did mine to trigger the torque wrench, but the axle wasn't seated all the way. I actually drove the car with it loose!!

Tighten it down with a regualr driver first then back it off and use the torque wrench.

WARNING: The inner shafts are neally different on each seies diff!R33 GTS25TS13C33 LaurelR33 GTRR31 GT3ALL different.. also case lengths are different on some diffs.. R33 GTS25T case is LONGER by ~10mm to the flange fro driveshaft.I know this as we have a R33 GTS25t diff that we're just killed and looking at replacing it.. but nothign else works other than lengthening the drive shaft by ~10mm
