I was looking at buying these r 200 shafts off E bay

I was wondering if there is a LSD made for the stock diff? and will the stock diff hold atleast 300 HP?

if you already have an R 200 you have those shafts, and yes the R200 will easilly hold 300whp, actually it'll old twice that without issue, the shafts hwever become an issue iat the 600 hp range

if you have the R200 yes there are lots of diffs made for it, kaaz, quiaffe, carbotech etc, you cna even use the 87.5-89 Z31 turbo CLSD, or if oyu wan to swap the shafts you can even run a VLSD

Thanks GMAC you guy are a lot less anal that other Z forums. I will say this, the guy I talked to made the sectioning of the struts sound more complicated than Evil did. He told me to just go the spring route, but he said it would cost me a $1000.00 to put the springs and struts in. That seems really high to me. HE also told me that it would cost me $5,000.00 for a L28 that would produce 300 HP. That also seems high. What do you guys think?

an L28 Normally Aspirated 300hp at the wheels? I could venture to say it would cost you every bit of 5k. To get that kind of power (100hp/L +) you basically need a fully ported, very heavily worked head, a giant cam, it needs to be balanced very well, have ARP fastners, a damper that wont come apart at 8500 and a lightened flywheel, not to mention a big ol' set of webers or a very well tuned FI with a pretty well worked over intake mani. This motor responds well to turbos, but 300HP NA requires alot of work... and don't expect it do do like the other L series have done and go half a million miles and keep on chuggin'.

l28 n/a can make 300 hp at the crak fairly cheap (cheap =2-3k) but to get 300 whp it'll cost at elast twice as much, but for a turbo L28 it's $500

This guy told me 2500 for 275 HPhttp://datsunpartsllc.com/cgi-...=home

I just found a N42 with 55,000 on it for 125.00. I might just buy that and build the engine myslef ( less the head work ) I have built a couple of Chev small blocks, shouldnt be that hard

It's pretty straight forward, not many little quirks, but that 275 is very likely at the crank. 300 at the wheels is much harder to achieve and doesn't make for a very streetable L28 NA

that would be crank hp and thats likely just the bottom end, you can get a robello 3.1 bottom end for around $3k and would be a great starting point

I could get the 3.0 stroker kit from Rebello.

Evil, I am buying that n42 can I just use the head and use the bottom of my motor. or should I use the whole thing?
