Hiya fellas,

Just wondering if anyone of you guys with a newer Skyline engine (any RB series engine) has an A/C compressor bracket and would be willing to take pics.

The thing is, my RB20 bracket will not hold my S14 compressor (which was still going strong at the time of my swap). Now I'd really like to use the S14 compressor to simplify the hose situation, plus, the S14 compressor is variable displacement and thus more efficient.

I *think* that the newer RB's should have had R-134a and probably had a similar Calsonic V-6 variable compressor. If someone could take pics of the bracket, I might be able to tell.

The main difference is that the RB20 compressor (as well as older S13 compressors, SR's, etc.) bolts up on a shaft so that it can be used to tighten the A/C belt. The S14 compressor mounts directly to the bracket with 4 bolts, and the idler pulley is all that can be used to tighten the belt.

So.... anybody have one of these compressor brackets?

Come on... nobody with an RB25 had A/C on their clip?

I have the bracket currently off of my RB25DET type II. I can take a picture of it this week or this weekend and email it to you. Send me an email to remind me.

I saw some pics of a 1997 RB25 A/C compressor, and I don't think it's going to work. It had a pivot shaft like the RB20 compressors do (like the alternator and PS pump). The S14 compressor is totally fixed by four bolts.

Looks like I will have to use the RB20 compressor, but then I'm stuck with splicing the hoses from the S14 to the compressor connections for the RB. The high pressure lines are both 12 mm, but the high sides are 19 mm on the KA vs. 16 mm on the RB. I have not found an adapter (compression fitting) for that yet.

Thanks for the offer tho!

I don't think that is the way mine is setup, in fact I am almost positive. The belt tensioner is a pulley mounted at the bottom of the motor. If I remember I will check when I get home.
