Guess what guys, I did the semisynthetic oil change, castrol 5w30 syntec blend, and i can feel the difference! its smoother, engine sounds better, and feels like its doing less work...could just be all in my head though but i dont notice my car shaking as much on acceleration. I also told them to put a nissan oil filter instead of an aftermarket, only an extra $7.

I also had to get a coolant flush and fill......turns out i had barely any left and it was in bad shape. No wonder my engine temp meter would stay at C until i drove for 10mins! now as soon as i turn the engine on it goes from C to medium temp right away, it feels great. Turns out my radiator cap was cracked and evaporated lots of coolant. So i also installed a new one.

Then i stopped at canadian tire and bought a new fuel cap, only $9 since the original was still on the vehicle. And also bought a litre of that new semisynthetic oil because i have a small oil leak and the car does burn a little oil and seeing how its part synthetic im prepared to add oil reguarly, no prob.

also got a coolant/antifreeze tester, used these babies in highschool and decided i want to have a watchful eye on my coolant from now on, only $5.

In all i will sleep better at night spending the money on my qx4 that it deserves. thanks for reading this lol as useless as it is to some of you!

yeah same! the cap was only $15 well worth it, I hear qx4's are prone to coolant leaks that are very costly, having good well maintained coolant system may prevent this and the rad cap is usually overlooked. You need that pressure rating or else you may have probs later!

Word of advice on the Canadian Tire fuel caps. My parents had purchased one for their maxima and it caused the check engine light to go on. If your check engine light goes on in the next monthish that may be the culprit.
