Has anyone driven the QX with an active suspension? How does it compare to a traditional non-active system?

you mean HBMC?

this system is offered on qx56 from 2011 onwards.

its night and freaking day compared to a qx without it. it rides like a sports car.

go to youtube and search HBMC and qx56 and/or "patrol" (the platform the new q is designed from) for some cool videos.

bottom line is its worth the extra cost...period.

I've watched many reviews and it was hardly mentioned. Maybe the tested cars didn't have it or something? CNET did a QX80 and said it felt alright (better than what he'd imagine it'd be without it). Do you notice a decrease in body roll around corners?

search hbmc and patrol on youtube. there are a few good videos to show what the hbmc does.

the hbmc is a major difference over trucks that dont have it. as i said i had two armadas and when i moved to the qx with the hbmc it was like going to a sports car. it really handles corners and controls roll , yaw, pitch, squat.. the system is amazing!
