I have an '11 white QX56 and received the settlement notice yesterday. After calling both a local dealer per the instructions and Infiniti Client Services, I can report that there is mass confusion. Each party told me to call the other. I was also informed that the extended 8 year paint warranty had already expired even though the settlement was just announced. What is also confusing is: "The Nissan Rogue and Infiniti QX56 extended warranties provide one full repaint of the white vehicle, but customers will still need to pay a 10% co-pay for the first two years of the repaint claim period. However, if the repaint occurs during the final two years of the repaint claim period, customers will need to pay a 30% co-pay.”

I emailed the lawfirm that brought the suit and will report back when I receive info.

If anyone has info regarding this or has talked to Infiniti I'd like to hear of your experience.

Thanks for the info! I've copied this to the Rogue forum as there's bound to be members in there that will be interested in this as well.

Well, after many phone calls, it turns out this settlement is a bit of a ruse. Even though the settlement was just approved, Infiniti told me that my 4 year extended warranty covering paint had expired 4/19 and that I am not entitled to a repaint. I talked to a lawyer at the firm that brought the suit and he said he would forward the particulars of my situation to Infiniti's lawyers to see if they would make an exception. Obviously, I will not hold my breath....

Yeah, these types of things happen all the time. Typically, it's just a money-generating scam by a sketchy law firm.

Anyone can bring a class action suit, but that doesn't mean the company has to honor the settlement terms - but the plaintiff's firm still gets paid. ;)

I also have a 2011. Received the notice, made an appointment with the dealer, made the 45 minute drive, only to be told the "extended" warranty already expired. When the suit was 1st filed in 2017, we were included, but since it only got resolved in 2020, our extended warranty already expired. It's absolutely non nonsensical. We couldn't submit a claim because there was no warranty, and by the time they approved the extended warranty, ours had already expired. I actually spoke to someone at the law firm and he was going to get in touch with the Infiniti lawyers about this technicality but I'm assuming we're just screwed. Our only hope is that there are enough owners with 2011's & 2012's with "in service" dates before Feb of 2012, that team up and contact either the law firm or Infiniti. It's obvious that our vehicles suffer from the same issue as the ones that haven't expired.
