Guys,

I have QX56 year 2006. It is a very solid vehicle and I like it. The mileage is only 26000. I found interesting things: when driving on a rough road with bumps the vehicle is very solid and stable and you do not even fill it but when there are holes on the road or small pits the vehicle is trying to “throw away” from the road and it is really difficult to steer it, sometimes it is even scary. Can someone please advice me what is the problem and if it is fixable at all? thank you

First off, welcome to the Armada/QX56 Forum! Glad to have you as a new member of NICOclub!

That does not sound normal, however, I know sometimes going at fast speeds and hitting some deep potholes, you will notice a "shimmy" of sorts. That is about all I can tell you about that, hopefully you don't have anything wrong.

Thank you for the reply. May be my low profile tires cause it?

Have your alignment checked. Poor alignment can cause unintended vehicle movements.

Also, make sure your shocks are in good shape. Worn out shocks can cause excessive and/or uncontrolled suspension movements that can contribute to poor vehicle composure. Especially if coupled to a poor alignment. If you are running heavier wheels and tires, this can become even more apparent.

How long have you had the QX56? My '08 Armada is my 1st full size SUV, and it took a while for me to get used to driving and i thought it felt harder to drive at high speeds. Before it i had a 2005 Chevy Silverado (which i still own and is for sale soon) and a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder (which i totaled). and thoes were alot easier to get used to because they're smaller.

I am having the same problem with my 08 that only has 4000 miles on it . If I am on smooth road the car is great, if I hit any kind of bump / pot hole, the front end is all over the place .... A few times on a highway off ramp i hit a bump doing 40 and it skipped the front end over and was very weird .. I feel every freaking crack in the road .. ???
