My Infiniti QX56 exterior window trim - along the bottom of each window - is corroded. No luck with dealer getting covered under warranty and having a hard time swallowing the $650 quote to fully replace. I am considering some chrome accessories that would just go over the top. There seem to be a lot out there and they look nice in the pictures. However, I don't want to cheapen my Infiniti and will choke down the $650 if these trim pieces look cheap. Any experience with these?

Depending on how much those overlays are I would just opt out for that. The interior/exterior of some of the Nissans (namely 350z's) have a very quick fading surface, many have just replaced it with an overlay such as black, silver, carbon fiber, etc. (chrome in your case)

Some have even gone as far to just spray over the chrome trim with plasti dip, its basically a sprayable rubber that can be removed anytime. People who want to achieve a sportier look and leave the chrome trim behind do this.

Good advice! Any idea how much the factory trim costs without install? (assuming that $650 was with install) LOL
