QX56 backup camera not working

Hello,I have a 2005 qx56 with factory navigation and backup camera. Last week the backup camera went on the "fritz", and only shows a fuzzy black background.

The red/yellow/green grid on the screen is still there, and the rear sensors work as well.

Any ideas how to fix?

Hey there and Welcome to Nico!

This sounds like the control unit is not processing the signal. If the lines you are talking about are the lines that indicate your approximate distance that I would think that your camera has failed.

In either case if you are still covered under your basic warranty by time and mileage you should take it in to get properly diagnosed, as these components are quite expensive and shotgun diagnosing is not recommended.

Thanks for the advice- unfortunately just turned 75k, and no longer under the 5 yr/60k warranty.

sounds u need new back-up camera i replace a lot of those @ work.
