I might supercharge my VQ35DE. Any inputs on if the VQ35DE can handle forced induction?

I'm looking at a Eaton M90 Supercharger right now. My main issue before I start this project is air/fuel management. http://www.4x4parts.com says they can upgrade the ECU on their website and I'm guessing an aftermarket fuel managment controller will prevent me from ever detontating my engine and leave me my current drivability.

Any suggestions?

I know the Frontier and XTerra both have supercharged models. I would ask someone who has one of those. Even though your QX has a VQ35, while the Frontier and Xterra have the VQ33, they are similar enough that any information about one should apply to both. (I'm not sure, though, if the VQ33 in the Frontier/Xterra has the same heads as the 35 in your QX). I think that S/C Frontier/Xterra owners might offer the most help there. Head over to the XTerra/Trucks/Pickups, etc. forum and see what they say. I seem to remember there being a thread about supercharging a 350Z or something like that a while back in this same forum. If you can find it, it should offer some help.

good call but i would mention that the vg33er and the vq35de are completely different. the only similarity is that they are v6's. i do not know anything about supercharger sizing but i would imagine the vq35 could handle a few pounds with out batting an eyelash. the vq35 is a fantastic engine with a lovely torque curve. i would look into a 350z supercharger kit from stillen or better yet procharger. i dont know for sure if it would fit but it would make a good starting point.

you're right. I was thinking that the Frontier had a VQ33DE, not a VG30E. Well...never mind what I said up there then. I didn't think the VG was still in use...wow. Of course, I guess it's not now. VQ40s in the trucks next year!
