I have a similar problem, get new tires and balance twice. From 40 and up to 80 it roars and vibrates from the bottom of the Qx4. When I which it to Auto 4wd it is much louder roar and a lot more vibration. I believe it could be caused by the transfer case, I am still researching about this issue.

My noise never goes away unless I drive under 40mph.

is this vibration shaking all body of car or only steering wheel?

If you are sure about wheels and tires are ok,There are two reasons for thisYour shaft(most probably rear shaft) is our of balance, it shakes everywhere and makes a rumble noise when are moving.Worst case is , broken AT transmission. Torque converter or worn out band cluthes can cause this.

Wow, im having this same problem and its driving me crazy.

All started 2 weeks ago after I had the transmission, transfer case fluid changed and tires rotated. Dealer checked all fluids, then they replaced the ujoints on both drive shafts. Its still there.
