Am seeking replacement Complete struts for my '03 QX4 RWD. Rock Auto shows Gabriel's are the only ones available for the QX4 at about $135 each. But a search for 2003 Pathfinder struts shows Monroe Completes for $98 each. Does anyone know if the Monroe's will work for the QX4? In fact, the part number for the strut itself (not the complete strut) is the same for both vehicles. That is, the part #'s (struts by themselves) for both the Pathfinder & the QX4 are 71441 for one side and 71442 for the other.

I don't have a high-confidence answer for you but I would suggest you might be better off buying the individual parts and sticking with the OEM KYB's for the strut itself. That said, for complete strut assemblies, the differences you will probably find in fitment and applicability for QX4 versus Pathfinders are going to be negligible. Any of them from all years starting in 1999 will probably fit without issue but most likely you'll find a difference in spring height and ride. Since you have a RWD you could have a different coil spring rate ; since the 4WD/AWD equipped vehicle puts more weight on the front end.

Pathfinder and QX4 have the same running gear. Struts are interchangeable.
