I was doing 70 MPH in pouring rain on the Interstate, and the steering wheel shook like crazy. I had to slow down to 65, and then it stopped. This was with cruise control on and off. Any suggestions? Also little bumps in the road can be felt, is this normal? My friends 99 cherokee didnt shake at all.2001 QX4

Couple of things you can check..On my pathy, when I had this problem it was because my wheel balancing was off...I had to get them balanced again.

2nd could be your stabilizer links also...

There's also a TSB out which mentions the steering rack sliding force may require adjustment to cure a shaking steering wheel at highway speeds.

However, I am fond of an "easiest-first" approach. Try balancing and alignment first, then you can move on to the complicated stuff.

There are also reports that replacing wheel bearings can cure the issue.
