Have any of you ever seen in tact seats at pick a part/junkyards? As you can see, the previous owner had a dog that ripped up the seats. After owning the car for a little over 2 years, the seats are getting really bad. Would it be cheaper to get them fixed or simply replace both seats?

Depends on what inventory of vehicles are in the yard. Check before going.
I have leather seats in my 2002 pathfinder that I pulled from a junkyard vehicle.
I had cloth seats before, and wanted leather, power and heated seats.
I found a good set of seats no problem at my local wreckers, and they were easy to remove.
The front seats are held down by four bolts (14mm heads).
I also pulled the rear seats to keep everything matched up. Paid $100 for everything. No regrets.

You can also try reupholstering them yourself if you're up to the task!

Thanks guys. I am not sure I am up to that task so the swapping seats might be the way to go if I can even find them. What do you mean by check before going? Places will actually know if they have seats for a qx4 and will tell me over the phone? Does it have to be a 98 qx4 exactly? Mine has heated seats and is automatic.

What I meant was, check their vehicle inventory if you can before going.
The wreckers I go to have their vehicle inventory on line on their website.
I can check to see how many, and what year Pathfinders they have.
They don't specify what condition they are in or what has been stripped, but at least I know whether to even bother going.
The seats from 1996-2004 (R50's) will fit from a mechanical point of view, but the electrics and connectors can vary depending on model year.
I don't remember specifically what year they changed the electrics, sorry.
FYI, the seats I put in my 2002 came from a 2001. The connectors were compatible.

Lol, the seats are still holding up great. Its probably only been 1 or 2 thousand miles though.
