The 2001 and newer QX4's have a timing chain right? The pre 2001 QX4's came with timing belt? What was the change interval?

Thanks!

The 3.5L is a chain, the 3.3L is a belt. If it is a belt i would do it every 60 to 80k.

If it is a chain...do I have to change it?

I don't know about the QX4, but in my Jeep, inside the warranty booklet, the timing chain is "gauranteed for the life of the vehicle, along as proper maintenence is undertaken."

Holy thread revival Batman. Is it really from Jan, 2005?
Anyways, the 3.5 doesn't require a timing chain replacement,
while the belt on the 3.3 should be done at around 100,000 miles.
