QX4 power antenna question??? HELP

2001 qx4. Im trying to replace power antenna that broke in carwash. and i got the first silver nut off then says turn radio on and pull out old antenna but it wont budge. any suggestions????? p.s motor is running

i think you might wanna pop the hood and check at the passengerfender side whats the preventing the motion..might need someoneto turn the radio on and off

I messed up my antenna in a car wash just days after getting my truck. I never replaced it. One of these days I will. I was able to bend it back but it doesn't go all the way down anymore. It looks like a pain to replace.

My 1999 QX4's antenna was broken. I was able to access mine by removing the passenger side wheel well covers. Removing the passenger front wheel gives you all the room you need. I removed the broken antenna and linear gear. Installing the new one, I connected a 9 volt battery to the connector wires and it fed right into place. It's still a pain in the rear to do. Such simple problems can be so painful.

I replaced the antenna on my 01 QX4 this past April. It was pretty easy just remove the weird shaped nut and rip the broken antenna out. To install the new one turn on the radio, place the nylon toothed part as deep into the hole as you can, have someone turn off the radio and feed it in as the motor tries to retract it. It took me a few times to get it down all the way but it works great now.
