I have a 3.5L 01 Qx4. Great SUV, both on and off road! The only things that really lack on this car are displacement and weight. I'm used to blazers with the big 4.3L and relatively light weight (about 3900 lbs). This Q is nearly 5000 lbs and only has 3.5L! Don't get me wrong, this car has plenty of power unless your going 60+ or haulin a trailer. What I want to know is if there is a power chip or any available mods I could do to boost the HP 20-30% without tearin into the engine. I know these engines can do it (look at the skyline or even the newer infinities pumpin out well over 300hp with the same engine.) With this type of power increase, am I putting my 4x4 and other drivetrain parts at risk? Are they made to handle 300hp?

getting 300 is the problem. I don't know about the drivetrain taking it, because it is hung kinda soft. But I am not an expert.

I would be more concerned with how you are gonna get 300hp.Chips don't work on this model as far as the pros have stated to me.Intake does work, i posted about Jim Wolfe intake and box removal once. That helped. They make a performace cam but rpm range is high and this might need to be looked at.

Exhaust maybe a little help. Then it is just getting to stock output. Supercharger maybe but comeon. Might as well put it on the squeeze.
