I have an Infiniti 2001 QX4 with about 150,000 miles. The oil cooler seal was replaced at 70,000 miles due to leakage. It has just started to leak again at 150,000 miles. Before replacing it again, is there anything that can be done to prevent having to do this every 70,000 miles?

Thanks.

not really, your talking about preventing 2 rubber o-rings from leaking and there is no real way to prevent it. there are things you can try like using silicone sealer on the o-rings but i don't recommend it.

very common issue on this vehicle. Replace the o-rings. unless it is leaking from the backside. Then you will need the entire cooler. goodluck

Just replace it. If it's just a 2WD you can do it yourself in about 20 minutes.

Is this leak that you are experiencing an oil leak, or an antifreeze leak. Either way, do you happen to know the part number of this cooler. I cannot find it. Thanks
