Yesterday I purchased a 2000 Qx4. Beautiful automobile and super clean. Runs great but I have noticed 3 things that aren't working properly and wanted to see if you guys could help. I think it's best to let you know up front that the key fob is missing, all I have is just the key and I'm wondering if 2 of my issues are tied to that fact.
1) Interior door locks. These onlky work when pressed when the car is cranked and when car is off they don't do anything.
2) Interior lights. Dome, map, visor, ect. do not work at all, not even manually.
3) Power antenna does not work, no clicking, no noise, nothing. Radio works fine.
Things I have checked: Interior fuses for audio and dome lamps, all were fine.
Could the keyless entry relay be bad or is the key fob the instigator or has someone done some kind of ignition code to disable as the key fob is missing?
My husband says these are trivial things and I shouldn't worry about them but my argument is this: I'm a full time nursing student and I work full time at night. I desperately need my locks to work properly and getting in and out of the car in the pitch black dark of night with the interior lights not working is kind of scarey. The antanna is probably the motor but I drive 45 miles one way to school and I'd rather jam out to music as opposed to static. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
