QX4 keyless remote entry?

Hi, new guy here. My girlfriend got a 2001 QX4 a while back. It didn't come with a key fob for keyless entry. I assume it has the control unit to allow keyless entry.

Does anyone know where the unit may be, or how I can verify if the QX4 has keyless entry before buying a fob? TIA

I have an 01 QX4, and have keyless entry. I believe it is a standard feature. There should be a control module box under the dash between the steering wheel and fusebox.

Check ebay for replacement remotes, usually the cheapest place to find em.

Awesome thanks! Even though they're only $15-20, I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting one from Ebay if I wasn't fairly sure it'd work.

I also didn't want to remove the glove compartment or anything looking for it, unless I knew where it would be.

question related to the 1998 QX4 remote kob:I was told that I can press LOCK and UNLOCK together for 2 seconds to switch between harzard light blinking and horn mode. I tried many times but can't get it to work. It only stays in harzard light mode. Also tried to press one key before the other one, hold for more or less than 2 seconds, etc... but just could not get it to work. Any ideas?
