QX4 interior water leak

I have a 2002 Infiniti QX4 2wd. After a heavy rain, I notice that the floorboard on the driver's side is very wet. The wet spot is directly under the dash vin plate, just to the right of the rubber footrest in the carpet.I have taken the inner fender out and cleaned out the leaves and debri. I have looked all around and even sprayed water directly into the cowl to see if it was the source. It is always after my QX4 has been parked for a while and with a heavy rain. I'm lost trying to cure this problem.Please help.
