Just a few days ago I decided to remove the IACV to inspect and clean. Seemed clean and fine so I just put it back together.I cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner thoroughly aswell, put it all back together and all of the sudden my car was idling @ 1500rpm.
I took the iacv out again and looked harder, and noticed with ALOT of force, I could push and pull the "plug" outwards and inwards, then I figured out thats how it controlled how much air made it passed the closed throttle body.
I pulled the "plug" out a bit (with a lot of force, pulling almost as hard as I could to get it to move) and put it back together, and sure enough my car idled @ 800 rpm again.
My question is though, is my IACV jammed and I just manually set the idle speed because I moved the "plug" into the right position??
I felt I learned a little about the cars operation anyways which is always good
