In my 01 Qx4. I was having a very low idle condition. No matter how many times I tried the idle air volume relearning procedure.

Just a few days ago I decided to remove the IACV to inspect and clean. Seemed clean and fine so I just put it back together.I cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner thoroughly aswell, put it all back together and all of the sudden my car was idling @ 1500rpm.

I took the iacv out again and looked harder, and noticed with ALOT of force, I could push and pull the "plug" outwards and inwards, then I figured out thats how it controlled how much air made it passed the closed throttle body.

I pulled the "plug" out a bit (with a lot of force, pulling almost as hard as I could to get it to move) and put it back together, and sure enough my car idled @ 800 rpm again.

My question is though, is my IACV jammed and I just manually set the idle speed because I moved the "plug" into the right position?? :gotme

I felt I learned a little about the cars operation anyways which is always good

The one on my Q45 has a plastic set screw that screws in and out, so we're always counting turns from the stop if there's no Consult or reliable tachometer nearby. I'm not sure how it's set up on the QX4. Might be worth posting in the Pathfinder forum? I'm sorry I can't be of more help...
