QX4 High Rev

Hello everyone,

New to this board, but I have a read a lot of knowledgeable info on here so I thought I would post my question here..

Recently on my 2002 QX4 I have noticed that when I press on the accelerator that the engine will rev to 2.25 - 2.75 rpm and then start to move. This has happened twice in the last two weeks. When I park and start up again within 10minutes it is back to normal.

Any suggestions on what may be wrong?

I'm not sure I understand your question/symptom.Are you saying it revs to 2,500 rpm's, while in drive, before it moves?If it doesn't go anywhere at first, then it sounds like a slipping transmission.Can you clarify a little? Thx.

Hi thank you for ur reply,basically that is what happens, I try to accelerate but it reaches 2500rpm before I starts moving normally.This has only happened two times in the last two weeks. Once I restart the engine it seems to drive normally.How can this problem be fixed?
