Hey guys,

I've been putting off replacing my RF HID Bulb for quite some time now, but can't wait any longer. I've done some research and found to use the Philips D2R 85126 bulb rated at 4300k and to replace both sides due to uneven lighting of old vs new. Would it be better to use a 5,000K (or even 6,000k) bulb?....will the wiring/ballast support it? I'd like to think that it's certainly the bulb, but wanted to make sure first. It didn't go out all at once...at first it just wouldn't fire right away and I'd have to turn the lights on and off a few times to get it to light up. Then a few weeks later it would only fire for about 1/2 a second before going out again. Now it doesn't fire at all. Are these the typical signs of a bulb going out and now completely shot? Or is it still possible that a ballast or igniter? could be the issue?

Also I've been having a weird electrical issue. When turning on my left turn signal it sometimes kicks off the LF HID as well as blinks all kinds of lights in the care including the compass and radio. Sometimes the Left turn signal just stays illuminated on the dash and doesn't illuminate the outside blinkers at all. Other times it works normally. From what I've gathered it sounds like this may be an issue with a short somewhere in my trailer lights connector?

Any help would be much appreciated...Thank You!

Evan

The higher the color temperature, the whiter/bluer the light may appear but that doesn't correlate with an increase in brightness. The color temperature in Kelvin of a HID bulb is simply that - its color, not its brightness. I believe you can try swapping the ballasts to see if the problem moves, then you'd get your answer.

As for your other issue, it sounds like it may be related to the combination switch itself. Try removing it and cleaning its contacts.
