The low beam HID on drivers side burns fine in warm weather. Below about 50 degrees, it either doesn't come on or comes on for a short time and goes out. I've switched lamps, and pulled all the connections, fuses, and relays I can find to try to make sure nothing was loose etc. No luck, still doing the same thing. It's been several months now that this has been going on. Help??

I had the same problem in my 02.

Swapped bulbs between drivers side and passenger side, problem stayed on drivers side.
Then swapped relays between sides, problem stayed on drivers side.
Then swapped ballasts between sides, and the problem moved to the passenger side.

Not sure what year yours is - ballasts for 01/02's are different from ballasts for 03's.

You might find one on ebay if that is the problem, or at the local parts yard. No longer available new from the dealer.

Kinda thinking it will be the ballast.

Thanks, it's a 2002 model. I'm thinking ballast also. I'll try switching them if I can get to the bolts/screws. Looks like I'll need to take half the engine compartment apart :)

The easiest way to get the ballast out is to first carefully remove the front grill....then there are I believe 3 10mm bolts and the headlights will come out....you will probably have to do some wiggling to get them out. The ballast is located on the side of the headlights and held in by 3 small nuts. I recently got a replacement ballast on eBay for around $100....it has the 2 connections on it not the 1. There is a difference. This is also a great time to replace or upgrade the side corner bulb in the headlight....this is the only way to access it!
