QX4 -- Halogen to Xenon

So uhh. . yeah. . I know this has probably been beaten to hell before, but I'm looking at doing something differently I think.

As time goes on, I may be looking to replace my stock headlights with 01+ HID units. I know I'll need the headlights and grill -- but I want to keep my 99 bumper cover. Anyone know if this will be a problem? I don't also need a hood, do I?

I'm finding these lights on eBay for ~200 a piece, give or take in decent shape. .

What about wiring? Can I just cut my stock harness and be good to go? Anyone out there done this before? It's a marginal waste of time I'm sure, but I get bored easily.

looks incredible. . I'm going for a seperate high / low so I can at least retrofit HID without losing high beam though -- I noticed the Terrano Regulus (QX4) has projectors for low beam and free-form high beam. . I'm not sure it's HID, but I assume it is as both types of headlights were used within the same model years over there.

Probably just get 01+ QX4 headlights / grille . . but I want to keep my older style front bumper cap. :o

Not a huge priority. . I am looking on ebay and finding 01+ headlights, but nothing else.
