spent all friday nite and saturday morning putting in the Old Man Emu springs, only got the fronts done unfortunately im already disappointed with the lift.... as you can see its nowhere near as high as InfinQX4's (he had the spacer)

i feel like with so much f**kin work, time, and money involved, i wish i got a little more than 2 inches, i mean i cant even tell if its lifted or not

BUT the front handles bumps way better i can already tell, while the rear is hitting the bumpstops

your tires look way bigger than infinqx4's setup, at least the sidewall looks way thicker, so i can see why you think his lift is way bigger. although he does have the spacers....but i really wouldnt bother going taller....ive seen your offroading pics, i can only imagine how much you utilize each inch of a lift and i really dont want to see this qx4 stuck at a 90 on its rear bumper trying to climb Juan's shed.

Friggin ridin' like a trophy truck, Adam! lol Yeah, the look is over-played in so-cal, unless it's functional (long travel suspensions will sit like that..but lost guys run blocks and wouldn't survive one launch...well, maybe, but not the landing, anyway). I agree it doesn't look like much for all the money and time you've put into it....(the main reason I've stayed away from lifting mine) But hey, I know you've wanted to do it for some time, so good on ya for gettin' it going! Funny you're wanting to scrap the vent visors...I need a set for my R50 'cause it rains every couple days here, and the Pathy loves to just dump water inside the window when I'm smoking...bastards.

I think it will look higher when it's level. Right now it's too distracting with the rear hanging down.

Hey, I'm new to the forums (just purchased a 99 QX4 and getting it ready to be my daily driver) and found your post. You truck looks nice. I had a similar issue with a coil spring spacer lift on my daughters 98 jeep wrangler. However, when I got the back put on it looked sweet. I'll bet yours will turn out the same. Looking forward to the final photos.

lookin good!

You'll be in great shape once the back in done. And keep in mind, you're running on a larger tire for sure. Aren't you on a 31-32"? I'm sitting on like a 29.5". That makes a big difference in appearance.

Still want to know waht you cut away to get the larger tire in there. I'm basically maxed out without cutting, but my wheels pushed them out further than stock too.

Can't wait to see it done and dirty!!

Looks great man. Lets see it with some dirt on it! I'm thinking about lifting mine. How long did it take to do the fronts? Wouldn't it be just like doing the front struts only replacing the springs, or am I missing something?

Yeah, get that rear done. It looks super douchey (like SixGuns said, 95% of the idiots who do that don't have actual long travel suspension)

And I'd almost swear that was PB middle you took those pics at!

Mine are the equivalent of a 30.5" (245/75/16) so not THAT much bigger... then again, my last set of BFG's were 265/75/16 (31.5") and they were freakin huge in comparison, TOO big actually. Now that im lifted, i'd like to go back.

Once the rear is done, I will be looking for some new shoes with bigger tires.

Im not t he best person to ask, cause i butchered my fender liners.... nah butchered is not a strong enough word. I massacred my fender liners and i would avoid doing that if i could do it again. now the front fogs keep getting water inside them. once in a while some plastic will come loose and make noise. the rear fender flares are completely gutted and held on with zip ties! Removing the mud flaps is an easy one that helps tho.... and its not permanent

Close guess, just 1 neighborhood away in Clairemont. Thats actually the elementary school i went to 20 years ago! But i did the lift in PB and you bet i was cruising up and down the strip with the music on blast as soon as i was done

Quote »How long did it take to do the fronts? Thanx everybody for your comments.... Hey im thinking of changing the rims and tires to something bigger... like 17's with 32 inch tires....

Lemme know what you guys think of the current rims, as ive had them for many years and dont really care about them anymore

would something with black and chrome work on my ride? or should i stick to alloy/chrome

The lift looks good Adam! I think you'll be stoked when you've got the rear done. 265/75/16's would be tight. As far as rims go I'd go with either black and chrome or all black, I'm going all black with mine when I'm ready for my lift.

You sound like me. I have a 99Q and a 1997 TJ. Did you do a budget boost? I am thinking of adding a hockey puck body lift to mine.

I like the rims you have. I think they have more of an off-road look.

I've always liked the rims you have. But as you know, I'm a fan of black/chrome. It'd look great on a black Q.

man I love those dc-1's I wanted to get them but not sure how'd they look on a 03 silver path, but fueler your rims are nice and basic, if you've had them for a while and are tired of them I'm sure someone would buy them, I've seen some nice all black rims but it would probably be to much on a black car, lift looks good, can't wait to see the final pics
