QX4 front right problem

Hi, I have this problem early last month....The right front tire will suddenly shake like driving over a series of bumps, it happened randomly and only lasted for a few seconds and if I slow down, it will stop. This only happens when in 2WD or Auto mode, once switched to 4WD it will not happen. I took the truck to a shop last month and they replaced the lower ball joint and problem seems solved until yesterday, it starts again. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this and know what exactly the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

I would check if your 3 bolts holding your strut to to strut tower are secured. Sometimes the holes get elongated and can create these symptoms. You can easily check these by looking under the hood.

Verify if your control arm is not loose. It is secured by 3 big bolts underneath.

Well, took it to a shop, they found out that the frame holding the control arm is rusted through, the lower ball joint is no good and CV joint leaking. They are now trying to find a way to fix the rusted frame.

There have been a couple of threads in here where people have had the frame welded up for that problem. So it should be fixable I would think.

Did you have the strut tower recall done on this truck?
If you're not sure what I mean, or if you haven' heard about it, then check the stickies at the top of the forum and read the strut tower recall thread. It's a doozy.
