hey all, i'm looking into trying to re-wire my fog lights so that they can come on by themselves without the headlights being on...just like previous SUV's i have owned. it's actually really annoying to me that the fogs ONLY come on with the low beams, has anyone done a re-wire to the point where they can be turned on individually or with the parking lights? was this difficult and how much electrical knowledge do i need to possess? are there any places that can do this work and how much would it cost? any help is appreciated, thanks!

I am not exactly sure how difficult it is to re-wire the factory fog light, but my feeling is it's not easy.

I'd guess most Nissan's light switches are the same. I bought one switch with fog light control and replaced it with my 96 Maxima switch with no fog light. It is the switch contact combination that determines fog light on after headlight is turned on, not the wires that you can cut and re-wire.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Two pages back someone mentioned that they used a relay of some sort.

Search relay, fog lights and va and I believe you might get your thread.

Yeah, there's been a couple threads. . I'm tired now or I'd post it up.VERY easy.

I used the factory relays, and ran a wire from fogs to A/C so they shut off with the ignition switch.

correct, do a search and you will find the answer... basically open a relay and do some soldering.... 2 out of 10 on a scale of difficulty....
