What type of peformance mods are available for the VQ engine version in a 2001 QX4?

Your best bet is to see if you can fit 350Z headers on the thing but that might require some custom exhaust work.

the 350z cams may work as well. i would get some bolt ons like a muffler or catback(nismo?), intake(nismo, stillen, jwt?), and maybe a better final drive. any nissan dealer should be able to get you a ring and pinion set for your pathfinder out of the old motorsport catalog.

The cams will work but I intentionally didn't list them because of the cost and complexity of the job.

Hm... does anyone know where I can go to find out exactly what bolts on to this 01 QX4 VQ35DE engine? I don't want to buy headers to just return them.

I'm just confused that the engines have the same name, but I'm guessing a lot of the internals and connections are "upgraded" in the 350z? Can someone better educated me?

yeah, they have the same name but there are differences. toyota and moreso honda use a numbering system to keep track of minor changes. nissan has a broader kind of sys and you just have to know. im pretty sure the headers would bolt up to the heads. the quesion is would they fit in the truck?
