Hello, hope someone can help. I've been reading my service manual and it says it's time to change the differential fluid BUT..... It lists fluid for both limited slip and standard differentials. So.....How do I know which one I have?????Thanks

just use API GL5 gear oil. pretty much anything you can buy these days will be LSD compatible. LSD gear oil doesn't hurt non-LSD differentials.

do a search for how to tell if you have LSD.

Quick check to see if you have LSD:

1. Lift both rear wheels off the ground.2. Turn one rear wheel by hand.

If the other wheel turns the same direction simultaneously, then you have LSD.

(Yes, stolen almost word-for-word from the FSM)

Or just do what alex said, buy LSD gear oil and use it. LSD gear oil is fine in non-LSD diffs (but not the other way around!)

If you have an '01 QX4 4X4, you have a LSD.

I use Mobil 1 75W-90.
