Hey everybody, new guy here :wavey:

I purchased my first Infiniti last week, a '99 QX4. I owned a '91 4x4 Pathfinder rock crawler about 7 years ago, so I'm familiar with the bulletproof reliability that Nissan has to offer.

Here's my issue: not all of the dashboard lights come on. Specifically the AC and the radio. The AC and Radio both work, but none of the lights for them do (neither the LED lights for the screen or the luminescent lights for the switches) The lights occasionally come on for a few minutes, then go out again. There are a couple other random buttons that have the lights out as well, but not all of them.

I also noticed while driving last night that the cruise control switch (on the far left side of the dash, near the door) does not light up unless I switch it to on, making it very difficult to find the switch while driving at night. All of the gauge lights behind the glass work fine.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to being a frequent member of this forum, thanks! :mike

The HVAC button bulbs may be making poor contact in their twist bases. It may be worth replacing them with LEDs so they will never fail again; see this post. I'm not sure what type of illumination the stock Bose radio uses, sorry. Hopefully somebody else does.

The cruise control button is supposed to be illuminated, it probably has a dead 12v microbulb. You can buy replacements at Radio Shack.

@Towncivilian, thanks for the reference to that post! Looks like those LED replacements are my ticket to victory!

Totally unrelated, but I notice in your sig you have a '64 GTO.
How about posting a pic of it? I'd love to see it.
Thanks.

Ask and you shall receive :)

So I exaggerated the truth a bit, its actually a '64 Grand Prix, but I call it a GTO cuz nobody knows the difference!! (even with Grand Prix badges) :rotfl

Every person who see's the car tells me what a nice GTO I have!!! :rotflmao
