Hi all! I'm new to this forum, but I've done a lot of searching and found a lot of help with "Eugene," my 94 hardbody. However, my in-laws have a 01 QX4 with a problem that we have been throwing parts at and are getting nowhere, and I haven't been able to find anything in the search. Maybe I just am not picking the right words, but nothing is coming up that helps.
Anyway, and long story short, their QX4 died on the side of the road. Crank, no start. Thanks to this forum, we found out that the IACV had gone bad and fried the ECM. Pulled the ECM and sure enough one of the MOSFETs on the board was toasted. We had the ECM repaired, and replaced the IACV, and TPS. After we finished replacing parts, we re-installed the battery, and tried to start the rig. Cranks, sputters like it's trying to start, but no joy. I wouldn't think the keys need to be reprogrammed, because it's the original ECM. I'm out of ideas. I'm used to working on older, carbureted vehicles. All these sensors and computery bits are greek to me.
Any ideas?
