99 qx4. 147k miles. Just bought it and having some issues that just popped up. Ran it out of gas on accident. Put gas in and imediately had a problem. Starts and runs like theres no problem. As soon as you put it in gearand try to drive is the problem. Can push gas pedal to the floor it doesnt accelerate like normal. It goes real slow and holds the gear for a bit b4 it will shift. Engine doesnt rev real high as if the trans was slipping. I changed the fuel filter thinking it sucked up some junk. No change. Plug in scanner and i have a pending p0325 knock sensor code. Did some searching on the forum and my prob sounded like symptobs of bad tps. Changed that. It is adjusted correctly by monitoring data stream. Drove it and same problem. Now i have a crank position sensor code. Got a nw one. When i pulled the old one out i realized someone had clipped the harness connector and put a couple female spade connectors on. Hooked it up the way it was previously. Put it all back together and still have same prob. Back apart switch the 2 wires around, put it back together same prob. Any ideas out there. Im ready to light a match in the leaking filler neck and be done with it

Welcome to NICO. See page EC-280 of the factory service manual for a CKPS diagnostic procedure.

Please list all your current engine codes.

P0325 was the first to come up pending. Then p0335 came as a code. After all the work i know have p0325 and p0335 pending. I checked the wiring per fsm. Everything checks out. The only thing im not sure about is the 2 wires on the cps. I have switched them with no change in result.

P0325 is a side effect of P0335, it should go away once the code is solved.

With both codes pending, I would clear the codes and see if they return within a few drive cycles.

So, you loosened & retightened the engine ground screws, checked the continuity and ground circuit of the CKPS harness connector, checked the resistance values of the CKPS itself and inspected it (details on page EC-281), all checked out OK?

Yes. Checked continuity between pin 47 if i remember and pin one. Also old and new sensors. Old was 168 i think and new was 200. I havent taken it out for a drive. Just down the street. Does it need to drive to do any relearn? Was afraid to drive it far. I can clear the code and it comes back immediately pending

Oh, that's bad if it comes back immediately. Did you perform step 7 of the diagnostic procedure (check for continuity between terminals and engine ground and for shorts to ground/power)? What brand of new sensor did you get?

I would check for TSBs on this issue but my Chilton's online link is malfunctioning at the moment. I will check again later.
