qx4 climate control buttons do not light up

i have a very annoying problem. the last 3 buttons on the right side of my climate controls do not light up in my qx4. i think the LED in that area probably burned out or something. so I was wondering how difficult would something like this be to replace. i guess i need to find a detailed diagram of how to remove the plastic piece on the dash to get the climate control out. then i need to figure out how to pop off the front cover of the climate control to get to the LED. has anyone done this before? is this difficult/time consuming? where did you find the instructions and technical drawings on how to do it. I also need to find the part number of the LED that I need to replace. does anyone know where I can find it?

ever consider trying to track down a complete used unit from a salvage yard or ebay? might save you the headache of pulling the unit apart and having to buy and replace the one little led, thats assuming they are replaceable.

I don't believe the part is very hard to replace, but it does require pulling the dash. That's gotta be one of the worst parts of vehicle work for me, I hate pulling dashes.

I believe you can find the part for cheap, around $150-200 through one of the sponsors. Someone else may have to chip in on which one. Our rigs aren't always so easy to find in a salvage yard, but if you're intent on keeping it cheap and don't mind waiting, that's the way to go.
