QX4 audio question

does anyone know the factory bose speaker specs? watts and ohms. i want to install my rockford fosgate 6.5s up fron but they are 80w max. also i am using an aftermarket radio with the amp interface harness so i retain my stock amplifier. anyone put aftermarket speakers in thier doors with the stock bose amps> should i just leave it alone?

The factory speakers are 2-ohm and they have proprietary amplifiers. The two front door speakers have their own amps, and the two rear share one amp in the driver's side rear quarter panel. The two stock tweeters should be Clarion 4-ohm.

I suggest you bypass the stock Bose amps, since your new speakers are most likely 4 or 8 ohm. You can do this by either running new speaker wire or doing a bit of soldering to bypass the amps. You may need to leave the stock tweeters unconnected unless you have an external amp for the door speakers, then you can connect the tweeters to the head unit. To bypass the amps, see here. Your wire colors may be different, if you tell what year QX4 you have I can look them up in the FSM.
