QX4 2001 START-UP

I'm starting to have some start up troubles. When I crank, the engine start but wobble 1 or 2 seconds and then go up the normal rpm.

It does not happen when engine is hot.

Any idea what could cause this?

(fuel filter was changed in December+air filter)

bad battery? cold weather? mine did that a couple of times when it was below freezing

battery is brand new. Yes we are in pretty cold weather and lots of snow. I just wanna make sure it's not the fuel pump starting to die on me.

Spark plugs may need a change, fuel filter you said was done so we can rule this out, cold weather may be one of the causes ( i wouldnt know the path is kept in the garage all the time ) even when its like 10f outside its at least 35-40 in my garage.

Buy some CRC Maf cleaner from advance auto or autozone and clean that too. May be the issue. Also when it does get really really cold outside even a new battery loses some of the amps especially when sitting overnight and stuff.

I guess for the spark plugs you are right. Still way too cold around here to do them, same for the MAF. Will do as soon as it is milder.(-18C this morning)

i have the same thing here in GTA usually happens when it is cold which it has been for the past week..but I will be changing the fuel filter soon...maybe that might help

Cold, cold start try giving it 1/3 throttle the3 start, see if it help.
