I have changed the thermostat and NC. Any ideas or what part to purchase. Possibly it is a thermistor one guy stated on another thread but I am not able to find one for purchase.
Finally got her to pass the emissions test. This year I am hoping for heat in the cold windy city at least.

Freon would not affect heat. I'm not 100% on what the op is trying to say with the title. If the heat isn't working check your coolant level in your radiator. If neither seem to work it could be your blend door.

where is the blend door located on a 1997 QX4 ?

Here is my current status.
Mechanic did some flushing out an in using some water from a hose and with an air compressor wand for about 15 mins. or so and was able to get the heat to come up in temp about 7 degrees F. But it is still not like it should be and is still just warm. He suggested if I felt adventurous to take car home and poor in a bottle of the Prestone cleaner and let it sit for 24 hours then flush it out. He thinks there may be some buildup. we saw a few granuals of a gray like substance reminding me of calcium buildup. Is this worth doing ?
