QX30

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi everyone,
Close to selling our Lexus hybrid and becoming a 2 Infiniti family... There are some great deals on 2017 QX30s with about 10-12K miles. I am only interested in the sport model.

Has anyone here driven one or purchased one? Just wanting to get some of your opinions...

I think they look great and unique. I know they are essentially a Mercedes GLA250 with Infiniti suspension and sheet metal. I also found a killer little ad-on to the ECU made for Mercedes by Dinan for $300 to add up to 30HP and 40 lbs of torque. Sounds like fun to me! :werd:

Well, having some Dinan support is certainly a plus.

Yes, I thought so too...and at a good price. They are a proven German engine tuning co. The increase sounds very similar to the HONDATA ECU flash I did on my 07 RDX and it completely changed the fun factor. Makes you wonder why they don't come that way...
I plan on driving one or more tomorrow.

One thing I found interesting is I kept waiting to see the Q30 hatchback released here (not QX)... I guess it already has been! In the US, the QX30 Sport is called the Q30 in Europe ... no QX30 Sport there... US is so obsessed with crossovers and SUVs that they thought they needed an X to sell it as a 'lowered' SUV... it is a Q30 hatchback, but the S version. ...basically like the G37 VS G37S... but it doesn't look like there is a 'sport' model in Europe?

Well I got it. A great deal on the car and my trade-in... It is beautiful. Sexy as shizzle, just like the EX was/is. It drives wonderfully. Will post pics eventually

Congrats. I'm thinking of looking at those as well. Love the lines. Just wish they had the AMG engine that the benz gets.

Congrats on the new purchase! :bigthumb:

Isn't it a bit funny that there are more posts about the QX30 in this forum than its own in Nicoclub?

I was thinking the same thing! So far, really loving it.
FYI - the BOSE in my EX is much louder and crisper than the Bose in the QX30.
Sport seats are more than amazingly comfortable.
Comes with Halogen headlights and LED foglights...will be upgrading those lights to LED soon. Halogens are so 80's / 90's..
Averaging 26 mpg with normal driving. I would average about 19 with my EX. (was 41 in the CT !)
Rear leg room is larger in the QX, but it would be easier to put 3 in the back seat of the EX than the QX30 (much more narrow back thre)...and even the FWD sport models still have the hump in the back for the drive shaft that it doesn't have.

Honestly, I find the EX section really slow traffic wise. Although I'm used to sites like s2ki that have heavy traffic, I assume most Infiniti owners aren't forum people lol.

Does the QX30 and a/c seats? That's the main thing I wish the EX had, that the FX did have.
