I have a 1990 240 sx. I was always a v8 man until i bought my nissan for 400$ i had to replace the transmission a week later but it was a good deal i think.:ylsuper onto the problems now...my speedometer doesnt work half the time..i figure its a short but ive followed the wires from the transmission as far as i could without ripping it apart.then the other day we were gonna start it from undernieth the hood and when he did that my speedometer jumped to 30mph...??????then also my passenger side automatic seatbelt only wants to return to the back position when it feels like it..whats the dealieo?

what did he touch to cause it to jump? the seat belt problem is probably one of the limit switches not opening. probably the one at the rear of the track when the seat belt is in the door closed position.

I have no clue what he touched ..he could hardly get his hand down there yet alone see...and how do i fix the seatbelt problem..my limited knowledge is in the engine compartment..

pull your B-pilar upper trim off. you should see 2 wires coming out of where the buckle stops when the door closes. close your door [key on] if the seat belt is still to the front find where those 2 wires have a connector and jump the to terminals where it goes into the body harness. this should activate the motor.
