What's the quietest exhaust you guys know of for the 240 ?

When I bought my car, it came with a slightly used Apexi N1 Dual, and it was waaayyyy to loud and obnoxious for my taste. Coming from the german tuning crowd, louder doesn't nessecarily mean better for me.

Actually, the opposite, I want the least noisy exhaust available with at least 2.5", preferably 3" piping.

I know GReddy generally makes stuff with noise compliance in mind. I know the GReddy exhaust for the 1.8t was the queitest out of around 7 that I have heard. And it showed incredible gains on the dyno.

Three inch exhausts are loud man. Especially with NA applications. I would get one with a silencer and run it that way if I were really concerned about the noise. I think the Apexi single comes with a silencer. Anybody with one know for sure?

Anyway, shop around and you'll find one.

Doens't a silencer just about eliminate the gains you got from the exhaust piping in the first place?

I have the apexi rs-r 2.5 and it is fairly quiet. It has a nice low rumble.

a friend has an apexi cat back system and its loud but sound REALLY nice without the silencer and quiets right up with it in. he claims better top end with it out and more torquey feel and and more throttle response at low rpms but hes also got an after market light weight flywheel which would help aswell but this is all in his honda prelude so the 2 cars have nothing in common except 2.3 to a 2.4 and N/A

its a nice exhaust either way but i prefer the BLITZ NUR spec R a lil euro favor

good luck

if u really want to see potatoes fly i could do a write up of my potatoe cannon that a friend and i made. its about 5 ft tall and fires 150 yards easily. i bet ive had this thing WELL over 200 yards when the wind and conditions were right.

Ditto on the potatoe cannon. 200+ yards is attainable. We've cleared entire residential blocks(I'm sure these vary in length).

Like anything else in life, preparation and timing are key.

Aqua net...and a good tail wind. Very low "flash point", I believe it is called. From what I've seen, it "ignites" faster and combusts faster than most other household "fuels".

I couldnt get mine to fire every time-not even most of the time. So...i made a pneumatic one that runs off 100psi compressed air. I cracked my wooden fence firing a 2in diameter cylinder of ice. fun stuff! I also shot a soaked nerf ball at my neighbor

I'm purchasing an exhaust with turbo applications in mind. I know the turbo should muffle the exhaust a little bit.

If there was an alternative to getting a silencer, I'd rather go that route. I already sold the Apexi N1 Dual. Besides the noise, the twin canister's wasn't my style.

id go with the RS*R exmag like Hadokenny said if u can find one. its design looks stock but has around a 2.5" diameter piping. ive never heard one but seems to be an exhaust entirly designed for stock appearance/sound by a repituable company so i would trust it.

damn i was just about to order a couple silencers for my dual n1.the thing is ridiculously loud....probably doesnt help that i have headers and a hi-flow cat either. looks like i might hafta go the custom route now. how bad is it at idle and like under 3k with the silencers in?

the noise is worst at cruising speed 2500-3500RPM When I installed it, it pushed the downpipe to the drivers side. I think it caused most of the noise I get. The silencers helped a little. @ idle it does sound nice.
