Quiet Exhaust

Hey,

I listed my exhaust for sale because it's too loud for me, and was wondering what exhaust options I have once I sell it. I'm looking for something quiet, but have Injen intake, and hotshot headers installed. Can you guys also show pictures installed if possible?

definately dont go apexi n1 or n1 dual. my n1 dual is loud as hell. i guess you could throw on silencers...

Well, I recently lost my silencer for my other exhaust which is why i'm selling it now, and i wasnt too crazy about the look of the silencer so I want something quiet without silencers. I'm not looking into the N1 because it's preaty much the same thing I have now, except my piping is smaller so exhaust flows quicker.

don't try the "bargain" route with a Thrush turbo muffler and muffler shop installed 2.25 piping.........I did that and it is way loud, and resonates the whole car efore each shift

check out some of the HKS and RSR exhausts, I know the RSR exhaust is pretty quiet, you may even want to look at the greddy systems(pretty quiet under 3500)-chet

I know enjukuracing.com sells exhaust but noticed they have less than they used to. anyone know other places that sell exhaust, and what about shipping? I heard that can get expensive..

maybe a place that has cheap shipping would be good. I know about the 2 peice systems being cheaper to ship, but i dont want to limit myself that much.

yea ive heard rsr exhaust is pretty quiet. its also got a stock-like appearance. no 12 inch tip. http://www.rs-r.com

try the hks hi-power exhaust. I have that on my 95 and its really quiet. I have no other mods so it would sound different on yours but I wouldnt imagine it being that loud

there was some website like sounddomain.com or something and the borla didn't get good reviews (atleast from the domestic guys) I'm going to look into reviews from the 240sx guys on 240sx.org when I get a chance.

technoman - your saying your borla exhaust is quiet? I know you have intake, hs headers, and exhaust done so your the right person to ask. Is it as quiet as stock? I'd like something as quiet as stock, if not quieter? I remember a 5zigen exhaust but couldn't find it with search. Maybe that was on freshalloy that I saw it. but it looks like the stock 240sx exhaust system with larger pipes. I don't know if it would be bad though because the stock 240sx system looks like it restricts alot with many bends.

yikes $709 is that the only place to get it? I was hoping more like $500? RS-R is the quietest?

I would say RS-R is the quietest.

just got back from looking at the rs-r. Looks like it's 80mm! that's what 3 + inch? 25mm = 1 inch.. hmm thats alot for n/a. I was looking for more like 2.5 inch tops. would like 2.25.

I'm probably going to go HKS. Why do you guys suggest the RS-R if it's 3+ inches and this is a ka24de forum? I thought 2.5 is the largest you should go on all motor.

So, HKS is probably my best bet? I like their prices too. Hopefully I can open it up and be as loud if not quieter than stock. I'm also going to order a highflow cat once I find a good welder in NJ.

You guys have any idea how much it would cost to install/weld a highflow cat to "I Am Technoman"'s specs for smog legal by a quality welder?

Is the catco high flow cat good for na? It's 3 inchs wouldnt that be too big? Will I pass strict emmisions with it + HS headers? I was just looking into exhausts and seems like Greddys MX are 2 piece so shipping will be cheap. What does it cost to ship a 2 piece from enjukuracing.com? How about a 1 piece? Damn I cant find an exhaust I like.. just want something quiet.
