Quickest RB20 240????

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I was just wondering who has the quickest RB20 240????? As in 1/4 times or wheel HP

I have no clue on wheel HP, but I expect to run a low 13 in the 1/4. My 4.3 ratio LSD really improves traction and acceleration over the stock rear end, so even though my performance mods are nothing special it should be able to get down the track pretty quickly. As a comparison I've got a buddy with a RX7 that pulled a 13.6 last time at the track, and that's with only one of the turbos boosting up because of a bad butterfly valve (he basically had no boost until after 4500 rpms). I've played around with him some and he can't pull away from me at all on the highway ;)

No one here really has a modded RB20 right??? Everyone is pretty stock besides exhaust and samll stuff liek that right??

WELL MY STROKER IS GOING TO BE BUILT SOON. GOT TO FIND A RB25 BLOCK AND GET THAT HEAD FROM NISMOFREAK. IT'S ALSO GOING TO RECIEVE A T3/T4 OR A T4 TURBO (DEPENDS ON THE WAY THE WIND BLOWS THAT DAY)

I think that's pretty much right. Although at one time I remember reading about WDRacing's RB20 with a turbo upgrade, RB20DE cams, and several other things. If he's still got that motor it would probably be the fastest here ;)

I think everyone has just basically stock motors. Mine should be in the 12's once I get it running again. I had a friend who runs a 13.4 by about 4 cars. I was doing a T3 on my stock manifold but traded for a stock turbo. There is one swap that I am doing where the guy is all stock minus 3inch exhaust an intake and my T3. He should be pretty quick, ww'll have to see.

195 whp and 188 torque at 3000 rpm almost bone stock. i believe a stroker doesnt count cuase im anal and its now a displacement is uppped. but soon real soon muhahahahha muahhahahah nismo214 will grovel before me muahahahaha muhahahahha ooops i farted.

I ran down 237rwhp at stock boost. I wanted to run up to 15lbs but the car was acting up on the dyno, sputtering and stuff. I got one run in and that was it. I hit the track once, and ran a 14.6@97mph, shifting at 6K with a clogged up fuel filter and a 2.7 60'. I just talked to venus this morning at they got my money order so my long block is on the way.....about damn time. Oh **** I actually farted......analysis.......even stink would say that stinks, this could gag a maggot, ya know when you go to aprtments and you smell all the cooking from each floor....that plus crap.

we shall see.....well i know i can beat you now LOL. i think i got 440's comming and that t28. i just want it fast....hp is nice but id rather put it down quick. im looking for the 25-5000 range being tuned right. ill show you my dyno and compare the curves 241. its kinda odd ball how sharp it is........how was your dyno curves? but my rb24d will dessimate all even if i have to import parts from japan.......you know i got that....that......... add? yeah that ish.

MIne weren't very peaky, more flat HP. made full hp at 5800 and full boost at 3100. Made around the same HP from 5800-7500 and dropped way down at 8500. It pulls really hard at 17lbs, surprisingly quick, I wish I had dynod it at 17lbs.

I have the RB20....I fried the rings in the 3rd cylinder. I have a good head for it htough.

Where in gilbert do you live????? I used to live on Mcqueen and guadalupe. Anyways...back on topic.....I thought it was teh RB26 crank and rods you'dd need to do the stroked RB24???

you can use both from what i know. and there is a stroker kit available. as for dyno ......mine shot up like a bat out of hell at the beginning rpms. my curves are like at a 30-45 degree pitch. i need to go wide band and see wtf. great for drifting though so i have no complaints

There is wideband on the dyno my friend has. When you get a chance you should bring yours down to tune at Ground Zero.

I WANT TO DO THE RB23DET BECAUSE IT ALSO ADDS ABOUT 500RPMS ONTO MY REV LIMIT. IT INCREASES STROKE BUT ALSO THE PISTONS ARE NOW 4MM BIGGER THAN THE STROKE COMPARED TO THE 2MM GAP.

I'M OUT ON (HIGLEY AND PECOS, GF'S HOUSE) OR (POWER AND QUEEN CREEK, PARENTS HOUSE).

STOCK ECU BYPASSED BY A GREDDY E-MANAGE AND PREOFEC-EO1. IF THAT SETUP BEGINS TO LACK I'LL END UP GOING HALTECH AS I HAVE USED THEM BEFORE AND THEY MAKE A RB20 KIT. YEAH I'M ABOUT 7MILES FROM CIVILIZATION BUT THEY ARE STARTING TO GET STUFF OUT HERE.

WELL I'M PLANNING FOR ABOUT 400WHP BUT I'LL PROBABLY EXCEED IT, CAUSE I TEND TO OVER DO THINGS.

OHH AND A QUICK TIP ON REDLINE CHANGES FOR THE RB202.2L = ABOUT A 750RPM JUMP2.3L = ABOUT 500RPM JUMP 2.4L = NO CHANGE (STROKE TO PISTON HEAD DIFFERENCE REMIANS STOCK RATIO)

SO YOU COULD ESSENTIALLY GET A 8750 REDLINE JUST BY CHANGING THE 78MM PISTONS TO 82MM PISTONS. NOW GET DIFFERENT CAMS AND MORE FUEL YOU COULD PROBABLY REACH 9K.

Mine has a 8700rev limit, as my RB tach was burried at 9k, my ECU just changed it. It's only been up there maybe 5 times since I"ve had it running. but it sounds mean none the less.
